Breakfast & lunch are served; various muscians present diverse music and often play an instrument or two while inviting attendees to join in with musical instruments. Bingo is among other activities enjoyed. Staff is caring and efficient.

We have a friend whose mother has been going to the Gilmore Center for 2 years. When we had to find similar care for our mother in law we checked into the Gilmore Center. They have extensive security not limited to locked doors, etc. but they also have staff who knows each person by their name and monitors them extensively. When we read the recent post in reference to a lost family member, we inquired both of the Director and Prince Georges County & Maryland authorities. Without sharing information inappropriately we will just say my mother in law attends Gilmore and loves it!

Located in the back of a church. Older building. Consumers seemed happy and loved. Were singing and enjoying activities. Nice organized day program.

One of our family members was lost by this facility. YUP, lost. They are supposed to be experts dealing with patients with dementia. My husbands aunt had her husband going there for 6 days after her caregiver quit. On day 6 he walked right out the door, supposedly around 8:45 am. They didn't start searching for him until after 11 am. This mans wife was not called by the facility at all. She received a call from the police at 1:30 pm. telling her there was an active search going on for her lost husband. While there, I was told they have had other people wander off, but they usually find them right away. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS PLACE. It is not safe. This is life & death. Update: our beloved family member died. I don't want anyone else to go through this. This should never have happened.
