What a wonderful place. My Father has been there for several weeks now and the staff, both medical and administrative, are very kind and knowledgeable. They helped us every step of the way and I cannot imagine having gone through this situation without their help. It was not a one size fits all approach, they really care and are extremely attentive to the needs of their clients.

I just walked in about 15 min ago with my father that is soon to be passing, the front desk lady is one hell of a character. Yelling out and obviously has no concideration that I am here. All i want is my father to have a great stay before his last day and that lady already put me in a bad vibe. I will keep yall posted in the later stay. It better be much better or ill switch him tomorrow!!!!!

Stay far far away from this place! We thought my dad was being taken care of but turns out he had such bad sores he was almost unable to come back to where he was living even with full time care. He was screaming in pain. Also his watch was stolen and a cheap watch was left at his night table in exchange. He was not bathed, his clothes were not changed and my mother was there every day to witness this. We thought he was being cleaned and cared for. When it came time to pay, my mother paid and then about 3 months later got a bill for several hundred dollars with no explanation. She called and asked for an itemization and instead got another bill and finally a threat that it was going to collections. I hesitate to even give a one star.

My mother was at Handmaker for rehab this past August. We almost lost her as she was overmedicated two days in a row with Tramadol and Dilaudid, even after the attending doctor changed the pain medication in her chart, the same nurse gave her the same amount the second day. On the third day, her O2 concentrator was replaced because it wasn't working, turns out that the staff didn't check the new one until late that day to find out it wasn't working either. Thankfully we called her PCP to come in and immediately was admitted to TMC, we were told that she wouldn't have made it through the night otherwise. The level of neglect and incompetency is shocking. Luckily we have many family members that were with her. I feel sad for those who don't have their own advocate to prevent them from this type of negligence.
