Arizona Adult Day Care Information
Adult day health care services are defined as a program that provides planned care supervision and activities, personal care, personal living skills training, meals and health monitoring in a group setting during a portion of a continuous twenty-four hour period. In addition, adult day health services may also include preventive, therapeutic and restorative health related services. They do not include behavioral health services.
Arizona Adult Day Care Minimum Standards
Arizona Adult Day Care minimum standards contain provisions in numerous areas, including: an Infection Control Program, that a Disaster Management Plan exists and is practiced through regularly scheduled drills, that a facility is clean and in good working order, and that required program standards are met. In addition, there must be Participant Council Polices and Medication Administration guidelines in place, Participants Rights Policies must have been established and implemented, Quality Assurance and Program Evaluation Methods must be followed and specific personnel health and background checks, and training requirements must be in place.
Arizona Adult Day Care Licensure Information
Arizona licenses adult day services as assisted living health care facilities. Arizona renews licenses for 2 years, as opposed to 1 year, if a licensee has no deficiencies at the time of the licensure inspection.
